Laura Jackson is a local creative with a BFA in Graphic Design (7 credits shy:) from KSU. Jackson reached her career goal at a young age of 33 years old as a Director of Computer Graphics & Multimedia within a New York City pharmaceutical ad agency named LLNS (Lyons, Lavey, Knickel, Swift; an Omnicom company). Pfizer was their main client. Jackson started with a staff of two and grew to a staff of fifty. She built and grew a 24/7 working studio which produced print, web, professional photography, and 3D animation graphics to launch new products worldwide. LLNS grew to become one of the top ten pharmaceutical advertising agencies in the world.
In 2013 Jackson moved to Cleveland and launched Cleveland Recycles. Jackson researched the many Cleveland logos in use. The name “CLE” was not spoken nor used. Jackson noticed that the Cleveland Hopkins Airport used “CLE” on their luggage tags only and as the airport abbreviation when purchasing a ticket.
In 2014, Jackson designed, trademarked, silkscreened, and launched her CLE Cleveland logo using the historic Terminal Tower onto the CLE recycled bags…and the rest is history. She intentionally sold the CLE recycled bags at many Cleveland festivals.
Today, the Cleveland community speak the tag name “CLE” in conversation along with businesses using the “CLE” name due to Jackson’s trademarked CLE Cleveland logo. Jackson put CLE on the map.
